Gallery Exhibition - Art In your Eyes 2026

I was honoured to be a part of the very first Art In Your Eyes exhibition at Holy Trinity Church in Leeds in May 2026

This sketchbook is something I have carried with me for over 5 years, across 10 different countries. I have drawn in it at every opportunity. Each double page spread has taken me between 30 and 80 hours each, totalling over 1000 hours of drawing time in one small book. It has been an exploration for me through the act of drawing.

For the longest time I didn’t know why I drew strange things, this sketchbook has been a guiding light for me to realise that years of being stifled, made to feel small and told to try and fit into a ‘normal’ narrative are trying to ‘get out’ and escape from the most hidden corners of my imagination.

It has been a really special place for the last five years. It has been with me through life’s ups and downs and I’ve carried and held it close to me through everything, literally. It is not pristine, the edges show signs of the things we have been through together. It’s the most personal piece of work I have ever created. I never expected these pages to become a part of me, but they carry my life within each mark.

To display the book, I had a large frame 3D printed, which I then sculpted one of my bird head flowers, fruit and other florals into before painting the whole thing gold. I then rigged the book to remain open so the viewer can gaze inside at the pages and mounted it inside the frame. To protect the book I made a custom perspex box to house the book.

I then printed out high quality scans of 4 of the internal spreads to display around the main book so people can see the high level of detail that went into each page.
